FAQ - Generally technical
Is one device sufficient in both systems: drinking water and heating?
It depends how the system is constructed. Usually the drinking water system is a separate
system. If the Bauer water treatment is installed right after the water meter and in front
of the heat exchanger for hot tap water, in most cases one unit is enough. If there is a
boiler for hot water, it may need another unit for circulation. If the heating system is a
closed circuit, a separate unit and a filter are required.
Should we use another system, after our pipework is clean?
Once the problems have disappeared, the system will remain in good shape as long as the
device in use.
Does it work with plastic pipes?
Yes, it does. In hard water areas also the plastic pipes could be blocked. The Bauer water
treatment prevents the blocking.
How often do you have to clean the filter?
It depends how dirty the system is. It varies from one day to two weeks. In the beginning
service intervals are recommended to be short enough.
How much electrical energy does it consume?
Small units take about 50 Watts and the big ones about 100 Watts, so the cost is very
small.
Does it need maintenance?
The Bauer water treatment device is maintenance free. Because it is chemical free, there
are no costs for salts and maintenance.
Is the flow direction important?
It doesn't matter and the coil pipe may also be installed in horizontal as well as in
vertical position.
Is it difficult to install? Who does it?
It is simple to install. A competent plumber, with our instructions, is able to make it in
a short time. The cost of installation is only pocket money compared to the benefits of
using Bauer water treatment.
